Jared Hobbs MSc is a Registered Professional Biologist and wildlife photographer based in Victoria, British Columbia. He has worked throughout North, Central and South America finding and photographing rare species, and was the recipient of the international Shikar-Safari conservation award for his dedication to the preservation of species and ecosystems.
Jared has been studying and photographing endangered species since graduating from UBC in 1994. In 2007, he published his first book with Douglas and McIntyre and is currently preparing another book on bats of western Canada for the Royal BC Museum.
Jared continues to travel internationally, constantly striving to increase his knowledge of the world’s flora and fauna. During his travels, Jared is always in pursuit of unique and intimate images of wildlife in their natural habitats, motivated by his passion to increase public awareness and encourage conservation of wilderness areas.
His images are represented by All Canada Photos and Getty Images and are regularly featured in publications worldwide.
